Information used to run Yabs
When you register, Yabs stores your username, email address, and a password hash. Your account also includes your profile, avatar, character appearance, inventory, Yabits balance, game progress, and time played.
Yabs records signup IP addresses and browser information, recent connection information, friends and ignored players, reports, and moderation actions. Saved private and group messages and available nearby messages may be reviewed by authorized administrators for moderation. Assigned moderators can review report descriptions and the specific reported message and apply limited temporary moderation actions. Their report panel does not include surrounding conversations, reporter identities, emails, IP addresses, or other private account details. New nearby, private, group, and in-call text messages are checked by local automated rules for suspected sexual content. Matching messages and limited recent conversation context may be saved as automatic moderation reports for administrator review. This text check does not record or transcribe voice or video.
What other players can see
Your public profile and in-world presence can show your username, display name, avatar, appearance, profile details, activity, game time, and verification or ban badges. Nearby players can receive your nearby chat; people in a conversation can receive messages you send there. Your email and IP information are restricted to account services and authorized administrators.
Microphone, camera, and uploads
Voice and video use your browser’s microphone and camera permissions. You can manage those permissions in your browser and the game’s settings. Other participants can hear or see what you share. Choose carefully what you include in profile photos, messages, and calls.
Birthday and age verification
New players enter a date of birth during registration, and existing players are asked once when they sign in. Yabs stores your exact submitted birthday, declared age band (under 13, 13–17, or 18 and over), and submission time. Your birthday is used to keep your declared age current and support age checks. Only authorized administrators can view the exact date; it is not shared on profiles, in chat, or with other players or limited moderators. Earlier submissions saved only an age band, so those players are asked to enter their birthday again. You cannot change this entry yourself; contact help@yabs.com for corrections. A birthday-based age update does not replace an administrator age review.
Declaring age 13 or over enables text subject to email verification and other restrictions. Declaring age 18 or over permits voice and video, subject to email verification and other restrictions. Live age reviews are required only when requested by an administrator. A declared birthday is not a verified age, and administrator-reviewed results take precedence. Designated administrators retain their existing staff communication access.
Administrator-requested age reviews
When an administrator requests an age check, text, voice, and video are restricted until review. Text requires age 13 or over; voice and video require age 18 or over. You can consent to a dedicated live camera review with an administrator from the game. Show only the proof needed to review your age; cover your address, document number, and other unnecessary details. Do not send or upload identity documents.
Yabs does not record the age review or save identity document images. Your submitted birthday is stored separately as described above. The reviewing administrator can see what you show on camera. Yabs saves the review status, an age band (under 13, 13–17, or 18 and over), request and review times, and the responsible administrator for moderation and appeals. These details are available to you and authorized administrators, not on your public profile. Email-verification badges remain separate from age reviews.
Payments and service providers
Stripe processes Yabits purchases. Yabs keeps purchase references, amounts, tax, and crediting status to manage your balance and resolve payment issues. Resend delivers verification emails. These providers process information needed to provide their services.
Cookies, storage, and analytics
Yabs uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and browser storage for settings and preferences. The homepage and game include Google Analytics to understand site usage. Analytics may use cookies and collect technical and interaction information. You can manage cookies and site permissions in your browser.
Invites and referral rewards
When you open a personal invite link, a first-party referral cookie remembers the inviter for up to 30 days. If you create an account, Yabs records that referral and checks email verification and eligibility information to determine referral rewards. No playtime is required. The inviter can see your public username, join date, and reward progress, but not your email or IP address. Yabs uses signup network information and a keyed hash of normalized email addresses to prevent duplicate rewards.
Storage and your choices
Account, transaction, and saved chat records remain in Yabs’s databases and backups. Nearby chat history is normally limited to the current server session. Chat excerpts saved with player reports may be retained for moderation review, including after a restart or ban. Some information may need to be retained for security, moderation, payment disputes, or legal obligations.
To ask about your information, request access, correction, or deletion, contact help@yabs.com from the email associated with your account. Include your username; do not send your password. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request.
